American Teenager: Shailene Woodley Isn’t Big on Awards Red Carpet

As a young actress, one would assume Shailene Woodley is quite excited at the prospect of dressing up and going to awards night simply because most girls love fashion and sashaying down the red carpet.

But not her. Shailene Woodley admits that this is the least of things she’s really excited about in her line of her work. She says in an interview with ASOS magazine that she is quite annoyed that they have to constantly dress up and wear make-up.

“It’s turned from this world of cinema to, ‘You’re not pretty enough, not skinny enough, not best-dressed enough.’ But I didn’t do The Descendants to wear a designer’s dress and a lot of makeup and get points from the fashion police.”

She said that there were people who dissed her gown at the Academy Awards. It was a Valentino couture that she said made her feel elegant ang classy, so it was great to wear it.

The actress admits that she has a few fashion inspirations though and one of these is Harry Potter star Emma Watson, whom she says kills it on the red carpet each time.

She says she can’t pull off clothes the way Emma does that’s why she admires her.

Former teen princess Molly Ringwald is now in her early 40′s and I’ve got to say she’s looking a lot younger these days.

The actress has recently joined the world of social media by signing up for a Twitter account. She was also in headlines the other week, because news came out that she was actually first choice for the role of Vivian on Pretty Woman, which as the world knows, became the role that placed Julia Roberts in the Hollywood A-List.

The actress did admit she saw the early draft, when it was still called “$3,000″ but she doesn’t remember turning the role down and the next thing she knows Julia Robert was playing it. Molly says, the part was really meant for Julia and that, “Every actor hopes for a part that lets them shine like that.”

Molly Ringwald is actually the person credited for singing the theme song of her TV series, “Secret Life of the American Teenager” saying that the creator thought it would be fun if she did it.

Clearly, she’s having a great time with everything right now, which probably explains why she’s looking quite young and fit. The actress kids that she actually drinks Kristen Stewarts blood for that.

Secret Life: Shailene Woodley is Juror at Tribeca Film Festival

The lovely Shailene Woodley has been chosen to sit as juror in one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world: the Tribeca Film Festival.

The young actress is going to sit with some 50 other jurors, which includes Dakota Fanning, Olivia Wilde, Brett Ratner, Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson.

The panel typically includes film critics, filmmakers, actors, creative executives and even restauranteurs. This year is definitely a mix of personalities as the panel is composed of mainstream film people, indie artists, museum trustees, and even Justin Beiber’s manager.

Their job as juror is to pick and award the best of the festival. The winners stand to receive over $250,000 worth of prizes in cash and other incentives.

The Tribeca Film Festival is a yearly event in New York’s lower Manhattan. This year, the event opens on April 29th and the awards ceremony will be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.

Shailene Woodley is joining as juror for the Documentary and Student Short Film Competitions.

Secret Life: Ben Goes for Abstinence, But Can He Really Do It?

The Secret Life’s Ben, who is probably the most happy go lucky character on the show, and who doesn’t seem to have any regard for responsibilities, has turned a new leaf and is, in fact a changed man.

And that may be all thanks to Dylan, who Ben is crushing on.

Dylan is a self-confessed virgin and a goody two shoes and Ben realizes that this may be the girl he can take things slow for.

Is he for real? Is Dylan for real?

I think that Ben sees Dylan as a challenge, alright, and as virgins are quite legendary on the show (where most young girls are into sex and getting pregnant), he sees this as his chance to be the one to win the virgin’s heart. And perhaps even more.

So Ben says he wants to respect Dylan’s wishes and gives in to just hand holding and perhaps innocent pecks and harmless makeout sessions.

But how long will Ben last? Remember this is the guy Adrianne says is really good with sex and has an insatiable appetite for it.

Although she almost earned a prestigious Oscar nomination for playing the role of daughter on “The Descendants” Shailene Woodley, the star of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, is still recognized for her work from other award giving bodies and critiques. Because of this, the actress is fast becoming a sought-after star. And being one of Hollywood’s youngest and newest, she has the privilege to choose prjects lined up for her, and her name is usually mentioned as a first choice, over other actresses. In fact, a few months back, her name was one of those chosen to star in a film called, “Carrie and Akira” but no further development about this movie has been reported.

The latest news is that Shailene Woodley has picked the next movie she is going to star in. The actress has chosen “The Spectacular Now” for her next project andthe movie will be directed by James Ponsoldt with Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber as the scribes.

“The Spectacular Now” is an adaptation of a novel written by Tim Tharp with Shailene playing the role of a teenager who is convinces an alcoholic high school senior’s attitude about “living for the moment” may not be all that is worth it.
