The series, which is currently running its fourth season, will culminate on March 26. After which, it will be back in the fall to do its fifth run.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager is enjoying cable popularity according to ABC Family as it is currently ranked as the third most popular series among female viewers between the age of 12 through 34.

“The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” a heartfelt one-hour drama from creator Brenda Hampton (“7th Heaven”), focuses on the relationships between families and friends, including how they deal with an unexpected teen pregnancy. The series cast includes Golden Globe nominee Shailene Woodley, Ken Baumann, Mark Derwin, India Eisley, Greg Finley, Daren Kagasoff, Megan Park, Francia Raisa, with Steve Schirripa and Molly Ringwald. The series is picked up for a record breaking 5th season, taking it into over 100 episodes – a first for the network. “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” will continue its fourth season with all-new episodes beginning Monday, March 26, 8:00PM–9:00PM ET/PT. Just released today is the beautiful new key art featuring Shailene Woodley which hints at a wedding – but ultimately, will Amy and Ricky make it down the aisle?

The cover had all the girls donning 30′s boudoir look which was styled by Jessica Diehl for the magazine. The shoot was done by Mario Testino and this was presented in an art deco setting.

Shailene has had such a terrific end to 2011 because of the movie The Descendants, where she played one of George Clooney’s daughters and where she received critical praise, nominations and awards for it.

The actress was, in fact, nominated at the Golden Globes, which is again another confirmation and honor for this budding celebrity.

I’ve seen the movie. And it’s about a family moving forward after the matriarch had an accident and was in a comma, and then eventually died because of it. Shailene played the eldest daughter who, prior to her mother’s accident, had been estranged from her because of a fight between them.

Shailene was such a natural in this film that the nominations came as no surprise. However, her being left out on the Academy Awards list became the big surprise since people had been expecting her name to be part of it.

Instead, the nominations included Bérénice Bejo for The Artist, Melissa McCarthy for Bridesmaids, Octavia Spencer for The Help, Jessica Chastain for The Help and Janet McTier for Albert Knobbs.

Shailene’s film, however, has earned a lot of other nominations including Best Picture.

The drama show running on ABC Family ended last fall, but the cable network says that it will pick up where it left off with Amy saying yes to her boyfriend’s marriage proposal. Amy and Ricky, who incidentally is the father of her baby, are finally talking the plunge and moving forward. In the same way, Adrian and Ben are also moving forward, ready to get past the tragedy they went to.

The return of the show is actually the second half of the fourth season, and there will be new characters to be introduced.

If you’ve been missing out on the episodes for the show, then perhaps now is the best time to catch up on it and be updated right before it’s back on air.

In its fourth season fans can expect the series to pick up fairly close to where it left off. Amy had just accepted Ricky’s marriage proposal and judging by the recently released promo poster, she could be walking down the aisle before the end of the season. Shailene Woodley dons a white dress and carries a bouquet in the poster. What’s that buzzing around her, the birds and the bees?

In other Woodley news, the young starlett has been busily cruising the awards circuit with her cast-mates from The Descendants. She was spotted at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in Los Angeles on January 12 where wore a simple, yet elegant Calvin Klein Collection gown. Woodley matched her with the simplicity of the dress by wearing her straight, waist-length hair down.

Another Secret Life star, actor Steve Schirripa has made plans to speak at the University of Delaware campus in Newark. The event which is open to the public and free of charge is being sponsored by the University’s Department of English. Schirripa has said his intentions are to shed light on the entertainment industry for others who may be interested in entering it. The event will be held on Monday February 13th at 7 p.m. in Mitchell Hall. Be sure to get there early though as seating will be arranged on a first come, first seated basis.

“If you wouldn’t wear your dog, please don’t wear any fur or fur trim,” is the new slogan in which is posted on print advertisements and PSA’s across the web. The slogan I am assuming will hit home for many pet owners, dog owners in particular as she is pictured with a dog in the advertisement.

In a recent interview the 25 year old actress expressed her disgust with where animal fur comes from. Park expressed she feels people don’t consider that the animal are skinned alive and confined to small cages, all in the price of vanity. Unveiling the latest campaign in Toronto Park was joined by her boyfriend Tyler Hilton.

She chose to unveil the new advertisement in Canada as she grew up here and was appalled by the Canadian seal slaughter. By showcasing the advertisement in Canada she hopes to encourage her fans on both sides of the border to steer clear of buying fur. Park revealed that often Chinese fur farms label the fur as something other than the dog and cat fur that it actually is, reminding us you never know who’s skin you might be wearing.

What are your thoughts on her advertisement campaign?

Not the case though with this talented 20 year old actress. In a recent interview the young starlet revealed to VH1 she’s all about the comfy clothes. I can’t blame her there! Woodley says she does a lot of her shopping at vintage and thrift stores and is most comfortable in a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

To go along with her laid back wardrobe and personality, the Secret Life actress says she isn’t one to go overboard using curse words. You wouldn’t know it by her new film, where curse words are a plenty. Woodley admits the words are in her vocabulary, but she opts not to use them in every sentence.

She also revealed her co-star, the always attractive and talented George Clooney makes her feel protected. Although Clooney plays Woodley’s father in the film in which they co-star, she says it would be weird to have him as her father outside of the big-screen. Referring to him as a teacher, a friend and a mentor, she says it would just be awkward if he too fatherly.

In other Secret Life news, the talented actress Molly Ringwald was spotted during a night out of the town. Who was her date, you may wonder. None other than her precious 8 year old daughter Mathilda Ereni. The pair were spotted in Los Angeles taking in the opening of Broadway’s smash hit, Wicked. Ringwald opted to leave her 2 year old twins at home for the outing.

While visiting the Good Morning America set, Woodley admitted she’s feeling a little overwhelmed with all the Oscar talk regarding her new film. The young starlet expressed her feelings toward the experience of working with George Clooney and Alexander Payne in Hawaii on the film as “surreal and crazy.” For me, I’m not sure which would be more surreal or crazy being able to film in Hawaii or working alongside the always gorgeous George Clooney.

Woodley credits the writing of the screenplay for her ability to divulge into her character in the film. She plays the rebellious 17 year old, Alexandra King in the film. Following a tragic boating accident, her character’s mother is left in a coma and the family is left to rebuild their family and lives. George Clooney, who plays Woodley’s father in the film is left examining his past while trying to sort out his future.

In a recent interview, the talented actress confessed if she wasn’t acting she would more than likely be in the woods trying to survive the wild, either that or studying massage therapy. Interesting choices for Woodley as both are a far cry from her current gig as one of the stars on The Secret Life of the American Teenager and now a role in The Descendants as well. I wouldn’t expect to see her doing either of her alternative choices anytime soon, unless of course she’s taking on the role for a new film.

What are your thoughts on the film? Did you think Shailene did a good job in the film?

Directed by Alexander Payne, the film is about Matt King who is a land keeper for his families land in Hawaii wife gets severely injured in a boating accident, and falls into a coma. After the accident he tries to reconnect with his two daughters (Shailene being one of those daughters). The story is basically many people forcing Matt King to sell his land, so he could really connect with his daughters without the stress, and the pressure family brings to him. It all gets even more hard for him when he learns something different about his wife.

The Gotham Awards is yearly held in New York City they credit and give all independent film makers what they deserve, credit and recognition. The nominees from this award usually end up doing excellence in the Oscars.

The Descendants is nominated in the Best Feature category, going against movies like Beginners, Meek’s Cutoff, The Tree of Life, and Take Shelter.

The Descendants have been premiering at a lot of film festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and has been receiving amazing reviews!

The Descendants is about a mother who suffers from a boating accident and a father who is known to be a land lover who post accident tries to reconnect with his daughters, the father being George Clooney.

Now when you star in a movie with George Clooney you are DEFINTELY a star, or have a purpose in Hollywood, basically you are going somewhere. But reportedly Shailene disagrees with this and does not believe that she is a celebrity, nor will she ever be one. Even though Secret Life of the American Teenager is getting great ratings, and she is in such a highly acclaimed film that is receiving great reviews even before its official release she still only sees herself as and only as simply an artiste. She said, “I’m an artist, I’m not a celebrity, or a star, and I never, ever ever will be.”

At the rate she is going, I would beg to differ. She is a star and one day she’ll look back on this quote and laugh.
